College Breaks - Housing and Meal Plan Information

 

College Breaks:

Residence halls are open on the following breaks.  Student meal plans do not always carry into break times.  There are options to buy meals on campus.

Fall Break                            
Friday, October 12 at 5 p.m. - Tuesday, October 16 (Classes begin 10/17)
Meal plan in effect

Thanksgiving Break           
Tuesday, November 20 at 5 p.m. - Sunday, November 25 (Classes begin 11/26)
Meal plan not in effect

Interim Break                      
Wednesday, January 30 at 2 p.m. - Wednesday, February 6 (Classes begin 2/7)
Meal plan not in effect

Spring/Easter Break           
Saturday, March 23, 10 a.m. – Monday, April 1 at 10 a.m. (Classes begin 4/02)
Meal plan not in effect

End-of-Year Closing          
Thursday, May 23 at 10 a.m. for non-seniors                                                
Monday, May 27 at 11 a.m. for all remaining students
           
Residence halls close during Christmas break.  If you are far away from home or have an academic or work commitment that requires you to stay in Northfield during one or both of these times, you should make plans now for alternative non-college housing and transportation.

Christmas Break             
Wednesday, December 19 at 10 a.m. – Tuesday, January 1 at 10 a.m. (Classes begin 1/3)

 

Future Opening Dates:

Below are the dates the residence halls open for returning students (sophomores, juniors, and seniors) for upcoming years.  It is on these dates that students may move in for the fall.

2013-2014*          September 2 – 4, 2013             Classes begin September 5, 2013

2014-2015*          September 1 – 3, 2014             Classes begin September 4, 2014

2015-2016*          September 7 – 9, 2015             Classes begin September 10, 2015

*These are the anticipated dates – final approval of the dates will not happen until fall 2013
