Online Placement Process
Open: June 1 – August 1, 2012
Chemistry, Computer Science, French, German, Mathematics, and Spanish offer online placement processes. The earlier you complete the placement processes this summer, the better. New students are required to take all placement processes that are applicable to courses you have taken in high school.
Please note: it can take up to 24 hours for Mathematics placement status to update

Roommate Preference Form Due: June 15
Academic Advising Questionnaire Due: July 1
Student Health Insurance Form Due: July 1
Music Interest and Information Questionnaire Due: July 1
All students wishing to major in music must have auditioned and been admitted prior to matriculate
Checklist of Registration Holds Due: July 15

Prior to each registration period, a series of holds will be placed on each student record in the Student Information System (SIS). Students must remove these holds to be able to add courses to their registration.
- Log into the Student Information System (SIS) and click each individual hold. Submit requested information to remove hold.
- Medical History & Immunization Record (all students): Due: July 15
Fall Athletes – complete St. Olaf’s Sports Medicine Health History & Pre-Participation Physical Exam (PPE) for all Fall Athletes - Due: August 1
Winter & Spring Athletes – complete St. Olaf’s Sports Medicine Health History & Pre-Participation Physical Exam (PPE) for all Winter & Spring Athletes
Course Choice Submission and Registration for Writing 111 or Religion 121, Fall Semester, 2012-2013
Open web registration period is Wednesday, July 25, – Tuesday, July 31, 2012.
New students will use the Student Information System (SIS) to submit section choices for one course: WRITING 111 (First Year Writing) or RELIGION 121 (Biblical Studies). Registration for remaining semester I courses will be held on campus during Week One Orientation.
If you will not have access to the Web during the course submission period (July 25-31), you must inform Cheryl LaCroix before July 15th so she can provide assistance during the course submission period.
High School Credits Applied to College
From the Registrar’s Office, information is available online detailing St. Olaf’s pre-college transfer credit policy, including Advance Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), Post-Secondary Education Option (PSEO) and College in the Schools (CIS). Check out the Registrar’s Office website for complete information on pre-college credits
If you completed college course(s) while in high school and wish to have the credits evaluated for potential St. Olaf credit, you must have an official transcript sent directly from the college or university that offered the course (not your high school) to St. Olaf College Office of Admissions.
Reporting AP/IB Scores:
If you have taken AP or IB exams and DID NOT designate St. Olaf to receive your scores, please submit your original score report by
- Scanning original score report and email document to Nanette Schroeder at schroede@stolaf.edu or
- Fax original score report to 507-786-3074 Attn: Nanette Schroeder
Note: if you have designated St. Olaf to receive your Ap or IB scores, we have them. No need to send a duplicate copy of the score report.
Pre-St. Olaf credits (AP/IB/PSEO/CIS) will be entered on your St. Olaf degree audit by early August. For more information on pre-St. Olaf credits, go to http://www.stolaf.edu/offices/registrar/transferetc.html
To review your degree audit, go to https://www.stolaf.edu/sis/login.cfm- Login with St. Olaf username and password
- Click on Courses and Grades in left-side column
- Using right-side pull down menu, select degree audit and click green GO button.
