The St. Olaf Christmas Festival
The St. Olaf Christmas Festival is one of the oldest musical celebrations of Christmas in the United States. Started in 1912 by F. Melius Christiansen, founder of the St. Olaf College Music Department, the festival features more than 500 student musicians who are members of the St. Olaf Choir, the Viking Chorus, the Manitou Singers, the Chapel Choir, the St. Olaf Cantorei and the St. Olaf Orchestra.
When is the St. Olaf Christmas Festival?
The annual festival dates are:
Thursday, November 29 7:30 p.m. Saturday, December 1 7:30 p.m.
Friday, November 30 7:30 p.m. Sunday, December 2 3:30 p.m.
The four performances are held in the Skoglund Center Auditorium on the college campus.
How do I get tickets?
Each current student’s family can purchase four tickets to the festival in early October. Current students can redeem one complimentary ticket each unless they are performing in the festival. Any remaining tickets will be available for public purchase in November. Please be aware that tickets are at a premium. Look for a separate mailing in early fall which will contain explain ticketing instructions.
