Scientific Name: Picea mariana

Identification Characteristics:
Leaves needle-like and 0.8-1.2cm in length. Commonly found in swamp or wetland areas.

Other Interesting Facts:
This slow-growing tree is a pioneer species that prefer wet organic soils.
