Residence Life
Fact: Ninety-six percent of students live on campus.
St. Olaf fosters the development of community within its residence halls, honor houses and across campus. As a strongly residential college, we require that all full-time students reside in college-owned housing as far as accommodations permit. Our co-ed halls house men and women on separate floors or corridors. First-year students may choose to live in one of five residence halls: Ellingson Hall, Hilleboe-Kittelsby Halls, Hoyme Hall, Kildahl Hall, Mohn Hall.
One of the scariest parts of going to college is living with a new roommate. Whether your roommate is from halfway down the block or halfway around the world, you'll likely find that he or she is your first friend at St. Olaf. We do everything we can to make sure you and your roommate are the best match possible.
Another source of first friendships will be your residence hall floor. Your Junior Counselor (JC) will coordinate floor meetings, activities, and mediate any conflicts. He or she will help guide you through any challenges you face during your time at St. Olaf.
