Career/Education: Brian Burgemeister is a 2001 graduate of Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota, where he majored in communication with an emphasis in visual communication. At St. Olaf, he counsels families through the admissions search process and works with transfer applicants. He also serves as his department's liaison with the athletics department helping to recruit student-athletes like himself. Burgemeister was a top tennis player in college and even helped coach the team during his senior year. After four years at St. Olaf, Burgemeister says it is hard to single out any one characteristic of the place. "I enjoy the wholeness of St. Olaf," he says. "There aren't too many places in this world that value your mind, body and spirit. To share that message is why I'm here."
Personal: In addition to tennis, Burgemeister plays in a softball league and enjoys golf and inline skating. He also loves the fine arts and travel. Guatemala has been his favorite destination to date. His avocation is graphic design. In college he designed posters, brochures and T-shirts, and at St. Olaf he designs posters and flyers for the Admissions office whenever he gets the chance.
