Career: David Fine graduated from St. Olaf College in 2006 with a double major in political science and American studies. St. Olaf's off-campus study and experiential learning programs fueled his interest in political campaigns, elections and the governing process. At St. Olaf he had the opportunity to work on a presidential campaign preceding the New Hampshire primary in 2004, during a month-long Interim class led by Political Science Professor Dan Hofrenning. He also studied national political issues in Washington, D.C., while interning in a U.S. Senate office. And he worked for the Montana governor in the Office of Budget and Program Planning. "St. Olaf had an extraordinary influence on my personal development," David says. "I'm looking forward to sharing the value of that experience with prospective students."
Personal: David is from Helena, Montana. He enjoys running, hiking and swimming in the great outdoors. He downhill skis whenever the mountains call, and revels in the wide-open spaces of the "Last Best Place." He also appreciates theater, opera and dance, and occasionally takes a turn at performing.
