Erin Preloger '06Career/Education: Erin graduated from St. Olaf in 2006, having taken advantage of the college's numerous academic and service-learning opportunities. Despite the intensity of majoring in biology with a biomedical studies concentration, Erin served on her residence hall council and as a mentor in the TRiO program, helping prepare disadvantaged high school students for college. During her senior year, she volunteered at Minneapolis Children's Hospital and interned at the Minnesota Department of Health. A serious musician, Erin played percussion in the St. Olaf Band and the St. Olaf Orchestra, with which she toured Norway in 2005. As a sophomore she participated in St. Olaf's environmental studies program in Australia where she snorkeled on the Great Barrier Reef and conducted field studies on kangaroos.

"At St. Olaf I worked with excellent professors who took an active interest in my life. I had the time and flexibility to study abroad twice, pursue internships, participate in musical ensembles and participate in volunteer organizations. I formed lasting relationships with professors, conductors and friends that will continue well beyond my college years."

Personal: A native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Erin spends most of her free time outdoors: downhill skiing, running, hiking or boating. She also enjoys musical theater productions in the Twin Cities and exploring new restaurants with her friends from St. Olaf.
