Jenny Howenstine '98Career/Education: Jenny Howenstine graduated from St. Olaf in 1998 and has worked on the Admissions team ever since. She majored in biology and psychology. At St. Olaf she participated in The Great Conversation program, studied German in northern Germany, conducted independent research and was a varsity golfer.

"Students at St. Olaf enjoy a balance of strong academics and interesting extracurricular activities. They are encouraged to study abroad and are surrounded by others who've had global experiences. On campus the commitment to sustainability is just one of the strong St. Olaf values that is evident. You can't miss the new wind turbine at the entrance to campus."

Personal: Jenny grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin, graduating from Appleton West High School. An active community member in St. Olaf's hometown of Northfield, she recently helped launch the new food co-op, Just Food. Having whetted her appetite at St. Olaf for studying abroad, she has since visited Thailand, lived 250 miles north of the Arctic Circle in Norway and lead six women in a study-service trip to Morocco, thanks to a Lilly Grant. In the fall of 2007 she was the Assistant Field Director for the St. Olaf Term in the Middle East program. She is looking forward to working with prospective International Students in the upcoming year!
