Luke Anderson '02Career/Education: A 2002 St. Olaf graduate, Luke Anderson spent four years in the investment industry as a research analyst at Minneapolis' Piper Jaffray before returning to his alma mater to join the Enrollment division. He earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation while at Piper, drawing on the strong analytical skills he honed as a math, economics and philosophy major. Luke's multi-faceted interests made him a perfect fit for St. Olaf, where he balanced his academic pursuits by singing in the choir all four years and serving as editor-in-chief and writer for a campus satire newspaper. He says the highlights of his St. Olaf experience include his economics study-abroad trip to England and staging a comedic opera he wrote during his senior year.

"St. Olaf is a place where you can weave in and out of different worlds in the same day. There's a music recital for math majors and a softball tournament for music majors. St. Olaf is for people who want to challenge, entertain and invigorate all of their perfectly unrelated passions."

Personal: Luke is from Denver, Colorado. He continues to blend diverse interests by playing the piano and disc golf, writing freelance for print publications and public radio, and working on math education initiatives. Visit www.TeachPi.org to view Luke's web site, designed to help school teachers get students excited about math by having fun with the number Pi.
