New York City Fire Officer (retired), artist (printmaking)

was your major and how has that played out into your life today?
Majored in history; I continue to work on oral history projects.
I am active in the NY Labor History Association.

us your favorite Ole memory.
There are so many. As a student it was both studies and
fun. Newberry Library Seminars, many professors, and working
in the archives. As an alum, delivering the 2002 Commencement
address at St. Olaf.
- What is your favorite alumni event?
Reunions
- What do you consider your greatest achievement
that St. Olaf has played a part in?
Becoming a New York City Firefighter.
- Why do you support
St. Olaf College?
I am enormously grateful for the friendships and support
I received as a student.
- What do you hope to accomplish
on the Alumni Board?
Improve St. Olaf’s outreach
in the NYC area.
- Any advice you have for current students?
Use your St. Olaf experience to serve others (including
your college).
