Master of Science in Nursing, Wayne State University, Detroit,
MI. Majors in Adult Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing and
Teaching Clinical Nursing.
- What is your current occupation?
Retired, Outpatient Team Leader, United Behavioral Health
- What was your major and how has that played out
into your life today?
Nursing. I found my professional career very rewarding and
value highly the liberal arts education I received at St.
Olaf. I am able to pursue a wide range of interests and subjects
some of which I was introduced to at St. Olaf and others
which are a result of the pursuit of life-long learning.
I continue to receive professional journals and keep abreast
of developments in my field.
- Tell us your favorite Ole
memory.
Shared first clinical experiences with my nursing classmates
and the close relationships that developed among us which
continue to this day.
- What is your favorite alumni event?
The Christmas Festival that brings memories of when I sang
in it as a student. Now I love it for all the years I have
attended with various family members and friends and the
invaluable part it plays in beginning the Advent Season in
Worship and Song.
- What do you consider your greatest
achievement that St. Olaf has played a part in?
St. Olaf laid the
foundation for a satisfying professional career, helped me
to become a broadly educated person with the ability to think
critically.
- Why do you support St. Olaf College?
Belief in the mission of St. Olaf College, gratitude for
my education and a desire to see others have the same opportunity
for a St. Olaf education that I had.
- What do you hope
to accomplish on the Alumni Board?
Strengthen the connection alumni have with the college by
encouraging participation in alumni events and in supporting
the college through monetary gifts.
- Any advice you
have for current students?
They are so bright and capable! Just to immerse themselves
in all the opportunities St. Olaf offers to discover their
gifts and potential and become the people they were meant
to be.
- Is there any personal information you would
like to add?
I have two great sons, wonderful daughters-in-law,
and four amazing, beautiful grandchildren with a fifth due
in March! I am blessed!
