  1. Please list your education beyond your St. Olaf degree?
    School of Hard Knocks MBA. Experience is a great teacher.
  2. What is your current occupation?
    Real Estate Broker/ Company Owner, Fundraiser, Exercise Leader, Green Home Builder.
  3. What was your major and how has that played out into your life today?
    Political Science & Math (started but not completed). Much of my business involves quantitative analysis. Each Poli Sci course involved writing multiple papers. That experience, usually deductive, has helped in business.
  4. Tell us your favorite Ole memory.
    Walking in crunchy snow, picnics at Heath Creek, but my all time best memory is sitting with my Dad & Joe Shaw in Shaw's backyard discussing politics & religion.
  5. What is your favorite alumni event?
    Band, Orchestra & Choir concerts
  6. What do you consider your greatest achievement that St. Olaf has played a part in?
    Operating in the business world with integrity & ethics. The foundation was laid at St. Olaf.

    Working with 20+ Classmates to achieve 80% class participation in Partners & then maintain over 70% for the next 2 years after our Reunion.

  8. What do you hope to accomplish on the Alumni Board?
    Improved systems/model for Partners. Raising the $ level of giving & raising overall participation to 50%. This will require development of educational seminars for Team Leaders (CFA) & cooperation with Principal Gifts officers. Alums must take ownership of fund raising with support of a professional staff.

    Alumni Board must challenge all classes to raise their level of Partners participation & $ gifts. I commit to a goal of 50% participation by our alumni. This goal can be reached in 4 years with an allocation of resources for training & Leadership of the Alumni Board.
  9. Any advice you have for current students?
    Find your passion & pursue it with vigor.
  10. Is there any personal information you would like to add?
    I'm blessed to have my Mother, Partner Roz, 2 boys, & 4 Grandkids at this time in my life. I've challenged myself with Roz to build a "green" home with a goal of achieving LEEDS platinum certification.
