| Andrea Dittmann '12 |
As the board’s student representative, Andrea Dittmann’s interest in alumni relations began early on. “As a freshman, my on-campus job was being an Ole Caller, and through that work I developed a passion for keeping alumni connected to the college,” she says. Andrea knows no matter where you live in the world, an Ole is probably living just around the corner, and “they are usually more than willing to connect with you.” Perhaps one reason Andrea is so invested in the alumni community is the legacy already set in place before she came here: her grandfather is the late Professor Emeritus of Art History Reidar Dittmann. “I admire him for his character, kindness, and accomplishments,” she says. While she maintains contact with many graduates, Andrea is still making the most of her time on campus. She is majoring in psychology and statistics, participates in the Psychology Club and the Center for Interdisciplinary Research, and runs year-round on the Women’s Cross- Country and Indoor and Outdoor Track teams. Following graduation Andrea plans to work as a research assistant in a psychology lab for a year before attending graduate school in clinical psychology. This will build on the several work experiences she already has undertaken, including research positions at the University of Minnesota and Carnegie
Mellon University. |
