Brock Metzger '03, Minneapolis, MN

A former student body president who is now a business analyst at Target Corp., Brock's support and enthusiasm for St. Olaf has carried over to his post-college life. He has helped organize a Target/Ole network with his co-workers, and in addition to being a class fund agent and reunion volunteer, Brock is also involved in planning the annual Black & Gold Gala. Last year he chaired the hospitality committee; this year he is one of the gala's three co-chairs and is excited to continue working on the event.

Brock's remaining time is consumed with music. Evenings and weekends are filled with singing with the VocalEssence Ensemble Singers and at St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church. His work and music keep him connected to St. Olaf. "I have so many Ole friends at Target and in my choirs — it is the quickest and easiest way for me to stay connected. And a chorus of 'Um Yah Yah' goes a long way!" As a music major who concentrated in management studies, Brock says he feels fortunate to have "two careers" that use both sides of his brain.
