  3. What was your major and how has that played out into your life today?
B.A. – Economics – I use what I learned in Economics every day in my life’s journey as a financial planner.  But even more importantly the courses I took in Psychology helped prepare me for working with clients in better understanding the behavior behind their financial decision-making.
  4. Tell us your favorite Ole memory.
Watching Ole football games on crisp, fall afternoons with blue sky and the fall colors all ablaze and playing baseball for Coach Jim Dimick who has had more influence on my life, and many others, then he could ever imagine.
  5. What is your favorite alumni event?
I don’t have a favorite.  I simply enjoy reconnecting with Oles on a daily basis.
  6. What do you consider your greatest achievement that St. Olaf has played a part in?
The great relationships that were borne out of my St. Olaf experience that have continued to this day.  Great people…creative, smart, resourceful, honest…people with high integrity and moral fiber and who have a commitment to serve their community in many different ways.
  7. Why do you support St. Olaf College?
My St. Olaf experience and the relationships developed from that experience have had a dramatic positive impact on who I am today and I want to ensure that others have the opportunity to have similar life impacting experiences.
  8. What do you hope to accomplish on the Alumni Board?
To be able to have a positive impact on furthering the mission of the college.
  9. Any advice you have for current students?
Enjoy your time at St. Olaf because it will be over before you realize it.
  10. Is there any personal information you would like to add?
St. Olaf has been a part of my life for a very long time.  My parents (Robert ’41 and Lorraine ’42) met while at St. Olaf.  My twin brother (Brady ’69) attended St. Olaf as well as our daughter (Stacy ’97).  And my wife Diana currently works in the Alumni and Parent Relations Office and is more an Ole than most Oles.
