| Jennifer Rajala Sawyer '94, Northfield, MN |
Jennifer's favorite college memory is studying classics in Greece with Professor James May. "It was my first experience abroad, and I was fascinated by Greek culture. St. Olaf planted the seed of curiosity that continues to serve me well," she says. Other significant influences were her Huggenvik honors house roommates, who taught her about friendship, community, respect, honesty, hard work, and faith. These days Jennifer devotes much of her time to raising three active boys, volunteering in the Northfield community, and working in leadership and governance for Rebound Enterprises and First National Bank. She stays connected to St. Olaf by bringing her children to St. Olaf sporting events, attending the St. Olaf Christmas Festival concert and class reunion festivities, getting together with classmates, and serving as a class fund agent. As a board member, Jennifer wants to gain an understanding of the strategic vision of the college, learn about the competitive environment it faces, share insights from an alumni perspective, and offer her talents to support St. Olaf's mission. |
