Student Registration National Day of Service

St. Olaf Students! Please follow these instructions for a successful registration process.

Thank you for your interest in St. Olaf’s National Day of Service, a project sponsored by the Alumni & Parent Relations Office and organized by alumni and parent volunteers.  On April 19, 2007, you will be one of nearly 400 Oles across the nation serving your community. Thank you for registering!

  • Read carefully the St. Olaf National Day of Service general information and then review the posted project opportunities, noting the ones that interest you.
  • How to Register
    1. Please register in groups. If you do not, each participant may be assigned to different projects. The maximum number of people per group is four.  Choose one person to register the entire group.
    2. While registering you will first be asked to list a contact person for your group.  Underneath this section, list the rest of your group’s participants as guests. Be certain to talk to all group members before registering them. Also, specify what T-Shirt size each member of the group needs.
    3. Next, list your top three preferred project sites. We will do our best to match you with one of your choices.
    4. Indicate whether you will need transportation or if you will be providing your own. St. Olaf College will provide a school bus for transportation that leaves at 7:30 a.m.  Otherwise it is up to you to get to your volunteer site.
    5. Be sure to register by Friday, Aprill 11, 2008.

  • Registration is now closed
  • On April 15 your group will be notified which site you will be volunteering at. Until then, SAVE THE DATE! Don’t forget to show up on April 19th, alumni, project managers, and the communities we’re serving are COUNTING ON YOU.  Not showing up not only gives the school a bad reputation, but also means someone will not be getting the help they need that day.

The day’s schedule:

7 a.m.             Load Bus (breakfast on your own)
7:30 a.m.        Transportation leaves St. Olaf College
8:15 a.m.        Meet site leader at assigned site
8:30 a.m.        Start project
12:15 p.m.      Finish projects (Bus will pick you up and take you to lunch)
12:30 p.m.      Lunch with all Twin Cities volunteers

                      FREE WILL DONATION
2:00 p.m.        Transportation leaves to return to St. Olaf College
2:45 p.m.        Arrive at St. Olaf College

Your site leader will contact you prior to April 19 with final information.  They will let you know what to expect and things you may need to wear or bring. Don’t forget to wear your St. Olaf gear! Official St. Olaf Day of Service T-Shirts will be distributed at lunch after we’re finished working.
