Dear Ole Parents,

You’re invited to one of the largest celebrations St. Olaf College has seen: Homecoming & Family Weekend, Oct. 3-5, 2008. Though you’re probably most concerned with how to get your student to campus for the beginning of classes, let alone a celebration one month later, we still enthusiastically invite you – and your whole family – to be our guests for this special occasion.

This year’s Homecoming & Family Weekend will not only play host to 1,500+ parents & families and 1,000 reuniting alumni, but we will also celebrate the completion of the campaign to fundraise and build Regents Hall, St. Olaf’s new home for science and mathematics. Surely, there will be a black and gold fever in the air. And, we’d love to have you be a part of it.

Be sure to view the schedule of events , which highlights the various activities and opportunities in which you can be involved. Please look through it, talk with your student and family about what works, and then register to be present. Some of the weekend highlights include a 5K Run, the Regents Hall Dedication and Festival, Sunday Worship, a Jazz Brunch experience, and continuous opportunities to engage in the life of your student and the community of St. Olaf.

If you pre-registered, stop in the Buntrock Commons Crossroads when you arrive on campus. Registration tables will be set up with your registration packets, which will include nametags, tickets you’ve purchased, and updated schedules of the weekend. Registration hours are Friday, noon – 6 p.m. and Saturday, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Walk-in registration will also be available at Buntrock throughout the weekend.

Until then, enjoy the rest of your summer. Sending your student off to school – whether for the first time or the last – is never the easiest of tasks. Please let us know if we can be helpful to you and your family at any time.

Um! Yah! Yah!
