  3. Arrival and Departure Information

Here is a map of the Whitman campus. The Visitor Page contains a wealth of information about the history of the college and how to get there by car or by air. It also contains a virtual tour of the campus. We will be running a shuttle from the airport to campus several times on Tuesday, June 21. Wait at the

Walla Walla Regional Airport is ten minutes from campus but is only served by Horizon Airlines which provides service to Walla Walla with connections in Seattle. A taxi to campus costs about $10. Taxis are available from A-1 Taxi (509-529-7726), but we will pick you up if we know when you are arriving.

Delta Airlines, Alaska/Horizon Airlines, and United Express fly to Pasco, Washington, 45 miles west of Walla Walla. We will have a shuttle running to Pasco several times during the day on June 21 with other times possible depending on arrival schedules of attendees.

World Wide Travel Service, a local travel agency, has helped make connections for many people traveling to Whitman College. They obviously have a lot of experience getting people in and out of Walla Walla. They can be reached at 1-800-283-9987 or 1-509-525-8040.

If you let us know the details of your flight (carrier/date/time/flight number) we will make every attempt to meet you at the airport in the baggage claim area. Since both airports are small, you should have no trouble finding us.

The Marcus Whitman is a classic old brick building that has been remodeled of late and is quite elegant. It is one of two dominant buildings in downtown Walla Walla and is not far from campus. The Travelodge is the closest motel to campus. At each of these places, if you mention a conference at Whitman College, you may get a slightly reduced rate. The Howard Johnson is undergoing a change of ownership so it may not be a reliable place to make reservations. Please let us know your local residence.
