iPads in Teaching & Learning

Whether you’re new to the iPad or already know and love it, this workshop will help you find new ways to use the iPad in an academic setting. The workshop will include a brief introduction to the iPad, short demonstrations of interesting iPad apps, and a discussion of how the iPad can be used in teaching and learning.  IT staff will also give tips about keeping iPads secure, connecting to projectors, and choosing cases.

Video Editing

In this workshop, you’ll be introduced to the conceptual and practical aspects of editing, from learning how to assemble videos in iMovie to what things to consider in making your editing decisions. You may even discover why editing is one of Steven Spielberg’s favorite parts of filmmaking.

Google Maps Engine

Interested in the use of online maps in academic courses and research projects? This workshop will introduce you to making and sharing maps with Google Maps Engine. You will learn to create maps using existing basemaps provided by Google and to add data from spreadsheets/.csv files or .kml files created in ArcGIS. When your maps are finished, you can share them with other users via Google Drive or embed them in WordPress or Moodle sites.
