Entry Procedure:        Sunday, November 4 – Team entries must be submitted online at: www.directathletics.com/ncaa by 5 p.m. CST. 

                                    Monday, November 5 – Prelminary entry lists will be posted on the regional meet website by 5 p.m. CST.

                                    Tuesday November 6 – Late entries/corrections must be submitted online to Direct Athletics (www.directathletics.com/ncaa) by 5 p.m. CST. Late entries and corrections are subject to the $100 fine and must be approved by the games committee. No further entries will be accepted after this deadline.

(Late entries: $100 fine per team, individual, and gender).

 

National                      TEAMS:  32 per gender will be selected in the following manner:

Championship                      16 teams will automatically qualify (2 per region)                      

Qualifier/Entry                    16 at-large teams will be selected by the committee.     

Information                          Only the top five teams in each region will be considered.

 

INDIVIDUALS:  (56 per gender) will be selected in the following manner:

         56 Individuals will automatically qualify (7 per region)

         Remove the team championship qualifiers from regional results and renumber the remaining individuals (not with a qualifying team) to determine the individual national qualifiers.

 

Sunday (November 11) – 3 p.m. ET – Championship fields will be posted online at www.ncaasports.com and the championship meet website

Sunday (November 11) – 3 p.m. – 9 p.m. ET – Championship entry period via Direct Athletics. Entries received after 9 p.m. shall be considered late but still may be acceptable until 11 p.m. ET per games committee approval with a $100 fine per team and gender. After 11 p.m. ET no further entries will be accepted.

 

Course                       The campus course is true cross country with a variety of surfaces and trails for running. See map for course description.

 

 

Inspection:                  The course will be open for inspection from 12:00 noon to 5:00pm on Friday, November 9.  The course will open on Saturday, November 11 at 9:00am.

 

Coaches Meeting:     The coaches meeting will take place in Classroom 1 in the Skoglund Athletic Center on Friday, November 9 at 5:00 pm.  This is a mandatory coaches meeting.  Failure to attend this meeting will result in a $100 fine.  

 

Packet Pickup:           Packets will be available at the check-in table in the Tostrud Center from noon to 5:00 pm and at the coaches meeting, Friday, November 9.

 

Squad Size:                 Teams are limited to a maximum of seven competitors in the regional meet.  Institutions entering 5-7 runners in the regional meet must compete as a team.  If fewer than five competitors run, they will compete as individuals.

 

Declarations:              Final declarations (7 runners) must be made at the assigned start line box 20 minutes prior to the start of the race.

 

Starting Boxes:          Games Committee will conduct the drawing of starting boxes and distribute the information at the coaches meeting.

 

Chip timing:                Chip timing will be used.  Two chips will be given to each athlete (one for each racing shoe).  Chips will be distributed with meet packets and will be collected and counted after the races.  Chips will be collected immediately after the meet at the chip check-in table.  Please return your all of your athlete’s chips at the same time. There will be a $30 charge for each chip not returned.

 

Rules:                         Cross Country rules as specified in the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Cross Country/Track and Field Rules Book will be followed.

 

Inclement weather:    The Central Regional meet will be held at the scheduled time unless there is snow to be

Procedure:                  removed or lightning in the area.  We will have no limitations due to frost. The NCAA site representative with consultation from the games committee and the athletic training

                                    staff will make the call on postponement for any reason.

 

NCAA                         Merchandise will be available for purchase in Tostrud Fieldhouse Friday from noon to

Merchandise              5:00pm Friday and again on Saturday from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Coaches will have the opportunity to pre-order t-shirts online with Event 1. Further information and instructions will be sent out Sunday, November 4 from the NCAA to all coaches attending regional competition.

 

Results:                      Results will be available immediately following the race at the course.  Results can also be found at www.stolaf.edu/athletics/crossctry/regionals07 and at onlineraceresults.com.

 

Showers and               Showers will be available in the Tostrud and Skoglund Athletic Center locker rooms.

Training room hours, modalities available as well as inclement weather policies (temperature/lightning) are found on the athletic trainer’s link on the Regional website.

 

Parking:                      Team Vans and Buses will find parking in the Skoglund/Tostrud parking lots.  DO NOT PARK BUSES OR VANS ON THE ROAD NEAR THE STARTING/FINISH LINES.

                                    There is ample parking on campus for spectators.
