Tom Langfeldt is in his 18th season at St. Olaf in 2012-13. He has coached basketball for the last 28 seasons at various levels. A 1981 graduate of St. Olaf, Langfeldt was the assistant boys' coach at Northfield High School (1982-87) and the head girls' coach at Cannon Falls High School (1989-93). At the collegiate level, Langfeldt was the assistant women's coach at Carleton from 1987-89. In 1994, he joined the St. Olaf coaching staff.

Langfeldt is the department chair of Social Science in his 26th year of teaching at Cannon Falls High School. Langfeldt and his wife Sherri reside in Faribault, Minn. They have two children and have adopted eight more as a part of Minnesota's Waiting Children program.
