Ludwig was a four-time team MVP of the St. Olaf men's team from 1999-2003. He was a three-time All-MIAC pick, two-time captain, led the league in scoring as a sophomore and finished second all-time at St. Olaf in career points (1,635).
He also played baseball at St. Olaf, where he helped St. Olaf to three regular season and one post-season MIAC championships. Ludwig was an all-region and all-conference pick as a senior. He was a 37th-round draft pick in the MLB draft and spent two seasons playing in the Los Angeles Dodgers' farm system before returning to St. Olaf in 2004.
Ludwig is also the school's assistant athletic director and sports information director (Ludwig's Sports Information Bio).
Ludwig and his wife Audrey reside in Northfield.
