Gusties sweep Ole women

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Jessica Doig had a pair of second period goals to lead Gustavus Adolphus College to a 6-3 women's hockey win over St. Olaf to complete a two-game sweep.

The win was the 13th straight for the second-ranked Gusties (13-1-0, 8-0-0 MIAC).

St. Olaf took 1-0 and 2-1 leads on first period goals from Tessa Christensen and Laura Wild.

Gustavus' Jenny Pusch tied the game at 2-2 with her power play goal at 17:48 of the first.

Doig then scored consecutive tallies in the second period, at 5:59 and 12:44, to give the Gusties a 4-2 lead.

Lindsey Boeser, who added an assist in the loss for the Oles (7-6-1, 6-3-1 MIAC), scored a breakaway goal to make it 4-3.

The Gusties then got an even strength goal from Claire Opsahl at 8:59 and an open net tally at 17:31 from Stefanie Ubl to secure the win.
