Volleyball drops two

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. - The St. Olaf volleyball team dropped two in the final day of the College of Saint Benedict Invitational, falling in five sets to Hamline before a four-set loss to Wis.-Eau Claire.
Hamline prevailed in the second five-set match between the schools this season, 25-20,21-25,20-25,25-10,17-15. St. Olaf won a five-set match against the Pipers last weekend in River Falls, Wis.
Jess Levin and Kim Smisek had 16 kills each in the loss to the Pipers, while Emily Amici had 15 to lead HU.
Levin was named to the event's all-tournament team, her second straight honor after last weekend's nod in River Falls.
Smisek had 13 kills and Jane Meyer 11 in the Oles' loss to Wis.-Eau Claire. The Blugolds were led by Abby Freiborg's 16.
St. Olaf (9-3, 0-0 MIAC) opens MIAC play on Wednesday at the University of St. Thomas. The Oles return home for another league game on Friday against the College of St. Catherine.
