Volleyball drops final two at Central Invite

PELLA, Iowa - The St. Olaf volleyball team lost its final two games - to Wis.-Eau Claire in five sets and Wis.-River Falls in four sets - at the Central College Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Kim Smisek had 20 kills and a career-best 30 digs in the loss to Eau Claire, the Oles fourth five-set defeat of the season.
The Oles won the first two sets (25-19, 26-24), but the Blugolds then ran off 25-9, 25-23 and 15-8 sets for the win.
Emily Zupon had 15 kills to lead Eau Claire.
St. Olaf had four in double-digits for kills in the second match of the day, but Wis.-River Falls earned a 25-15, 22-25, 25-22 and 25-23 victory.
The Falcons' Kara Buffington had a match-best 15 kills.
The Oles had a team-best 11 from Jess Levin and ten each from Smisek, Paige Olson and Jane Meyer. Alyssa Williams added a team best 19 digs in the loss.
St. Olaf (12-7, 2-1 MIAC) has lost three straight overall, but will take a two-game league winning streak into Wednesday's match at the College of Saint Benedict.
