NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Jess Levin hit .567 with 19 kills to lead St. Olaf to a 25-15, 20-25, 25-17 and 25-16 victory over visiting Hamline University on Wednesday night at Skoglund Center, and a trip to the six-team MIAC playoffs.

Kim Smisek added 18 kills for the Oles (20-10, 6-4 MIAC), who hit .281 as a team and won for the eighth time in nine games.

The Oles, who had 50 sets from Kelly Prunty, cruised to a 25-15 win in the first set before Hamline streaked ahead and won the second 25-20.

Levin then went 5-for-7 with no errors and Smisek 6-for-11 with no errors in the third to regain momentum and take the set 25-17.

The Pipers (15-11, 3-7 MIAC) were led by Amanda Booth's 11 kills and Jackie Kelly's 17 digs.

The Oles will be the fifth or sixth seed in the MIAC Playoffs, which begin on Tuesday, at Gustavus, Saint Ben's or Concordia.

St. Olaf last made the event in 2005, when the fifth-seeded Oles beat the third seed, Concordia, on the road in three sets.
