Men's hockey ties Augsburg

The St. Olaf men's hockey team settled for a 1-1 tie Friday night in a defensive game against Augsburg College at the Northfield Ice Arena.

Augsburg scored with 17:16 left in the third period to tie the score at 1-1 sending the game into a scoreless overtime period.

St. Olaf struck first with 9:18 to play in the second period on a goal by Justin Greene (FY, Shorewood, Minn./ Fort Francis-SIJHL) assisted by Andy Ockuly (FY, Hudson, Wis./ Dubuque-MNJHL). The assist was Ockuly's first point in his college career.

The Oles outshot the Auggies 38-26 for the game in a tight defensive match-up.

With the tie the Oles move to 1-3-1 in the MIAC while Augsburg moves to 3-3-2.

St. Olaf completes the two-game series against Augsburg Saturday night at 7 p.m. in Minneapolis.
