NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf volleyball team used 27-25 wins in the first two sets to defeat Cornell College, and then cruised to a three-set win over Buena Vista University on Saturday to finish the IIAC-MIAC Border Battle 4-0.

In the first match of the day the Oles (19-2, 3-1 MIAC) overcame a 24-23 deficit in the first set. Kim Smisek's 14 kills led St. Olaf, which extended its winning streak to 11 with the victories.

Alyssa Williams' 19 digs led the Oles' defensive efforts in the win over Cornell.

Smisek had 18 kills and hit .562 in the three-set sweep of Buena Vista to close the tournament. Smisek and Kelly Prunty were named to the event's all-tournament team. Prunty had 31 and 35 set assists in Saturday's wins.

The MIAC went 15-3 in the event at Skoglund Center, which featured teams that finished fifth through eighth last season. At Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, where the top four teams from each league in 2008 met, the MIAC held a 9-7 advantage.
