Women's soccer opens MIAC play with 5-0 win over Pipers

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Ellie Steiner had two assists while five different players scored as the St. Olaf women's soccer team opened its MIAC schedule with a 5-0 victory over Hamline University on Tuesday afternoon.
K.C. Beed's score in the fifth minute set the tone for the Oles (4-1-0, 1-0-0 MIAC), who outshot the Pipers (3-2-0, 0-1-0 MIAC) 23-5 in the win.
Steiner connected with Christina Herron-Sweet at 33:46 and Amanda Leone at 42:19 to give the Oles a 3-0 lead at the half.
The team's final two scores came from Caitie Christoffel, on a feed from Leone in the 65th minute, and Mackensie Quade at 88:06.
St. Olaf, which has won four in a row, plays at the College of Saint Benedict on Saturday at 1 p.m.
