Women's cross country second at St. Olaf Invitational

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The 25th-ranked St. Olaf women's cross country team took five of the top 17 spots to finish second at the St. Olaf Invitational on Saturday.

The Oles were led by junior Maren Westby (22:31) and sophomore Emma Lee (22:44), who finished fourth and fifth in the 263-runner race. Sophomore Rachel Dean (22:58) was seventh, while fellow sophomore Sophie Pietrick (23:35) and junior Hannah Dennis (23:44) were 15th and 17th.

Christine Muller added a 20th place run and Becca Bevans was 29th.

The University of Minnesota-Duluth won the event on the heels of individual champion Morgan Place and runner up Bridget Hines.

Gustavus Adolphus College and Winona State University finished third and fourth.

St. Olaf is off next weekend before running in the BluGold Invitational on Oct. 1.
