Champions! Oles share MIAC volleyball crown with sweep of Carleton

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Kim Smisek's 12 kills helped 11th-ranked St. Olaf defeat Carleton College in three sets -- 25-21, 25-19, 25-11 -- to share the MIAC regular season title.

The MIAC regular season championship is the sixth in school history and first since 2001.

Katie Wolfram added nine kills and Kelly Prunty 32 set assists. Carleton was led by Kyla Walter's eight kills.

The Oles (27-4, 10-1 MIAC) are the top seed in the upcoming MIAC playoffs which begin on Tuesday for the bottom four seeds in the six-team event. The Oles will play the winner of #4 Saint Mary's and #5 Saint Ben's on Thursday at Skoglund Center at 7 p.m.

The Oles have won 10 in a row and 22 of their last 23.

Tickets for the MIAC playoffs will be available at the door for $7 (adults) and $3 (students). There are no senior discounts and St. Olaf passes do not apply.
