Women's swimming beats MSU-Moorhead and Carleton

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Ole women's swimming and diving team won against Carleton College and MSU-Moorhead with 123 points, winning seven events in the victory.

Top performers for St. Olaf included Carolyn Bernhardt, Meghan Weiss, Sarah Kemp and Megan Laedtke.

Bernhardt was a member of the first-place 200 yard medley relay and 200 yard freestyle relay. She also won the 50 yard backstroke and places second in the 100 yard backstroke.

Weiss won the 200 yard freestyle in 1:57.88, the 100 yard freestyle in 54.91 and was a member of the winning 200 yard free and medley relays.

Kemp got second in the 200 yard freestyle 00.50 seconds behind Weiss and placed third in the 50 yard freestyle in 25.55. She also won the 500 yard freestyle in 5:26.86 and was a member of the first-place 200 yard freestyle relay.

Laedtke got third in the 1000 yard freestyle in 11:15.41 and second in the 100 yard butterfly in 1:02.49.

MSU-Moorhead came in second with 103 points behind the Oles 123. Carleton placed third with 68.

The St. Olaf women's swimming and diving team will compete again on Saturday at the Northfield Colleges Quad Classic in Mankato.
