Smisek and Prunty are named second, third team AVCA All-America

LEXINGTON, Ky. - St. Olaf senior outside hitter Kim Smisek was named American Volleyball Coaches Association second team All-America while senior setter Kelly Prunty was a third team seletion, the group announced on Tuesday.

Smisek is now a two-time selection after being named first team All-America in 2009 when she led the nation in kills. She had a record-breaking campain this fall, collecting a St. Olaf best 605 kills. Smisek's 1,985 career kills are second in school history.

Prunty became one of only a handful of MIAC setters to reach the career 5,000-set mark in the Oles' 31-5 season.

St. Olaf's 30-win season was the seventh in school history and the team's .861 winning percentage is fourth-best.

The Oles' MIAC regular season title was the sixth, the MIAC playoffs title was the second and the NCAA appearance was the 10th.
