Women's hoops tops St. Scholastica 57-42

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - St. Olaf used an 18-2 run midway through the second half to claim a 57-42 non-conference women's basketball win over visiting St. Scholastica on Saturday afternoon.

Elise Raney had 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting to lead the Oles (2-0, 0-0 MIAC), who were a dismal 1-of-21 from three-point range.

St. Olaf raced to an 11-1 lead, but scored just four points in the 10 minutes that followed. St. Scholastica clawed back in the game and took its only lead of the game on a Kayla Heisler three-pointer in the final seconds of the first half.

Bri Allen led the Saints (0-2, 0-0 UMAC) with 14 points.

The Oles had nine-point games from Mackenzie Wolter and Erin Haglund, while Eileen O'Donoghue added seven assists and six rebounds in the win.

The 2-0 start for St. Olaf is the first since 2000-01. The Oles host Luther College on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
