Oles second at Carthage Invitational

KENOSHA, Wis. - Chris Bateman picked up three NCAA A cut swims and pool records as the St. Olaf men's swimming and diving team was second of six teams at the Carthage Invitational.
Bateman finished first and picked up automatic NCAA times in the 200 yard IM, 200 yard backstroke (1:48.61) and 400 yard IM. His 400 IM time (3:57.73) is just under three seconds off his school record he set at the NCAA's in March while all three were pool records.
Colby Kubat got first in the 100 yard breaststroke, third in the 400 yard IM and second in the 200 yard IM.
Spencer Scarth swam to a first place finish in the 500 yard freestyle and 1650 yard freestyle. Scarth also finished second in the 400 yard IM.
Chase Liaboe placed first in the 200 yard freestyle, second in the 500 yard freestyle and third in the 200 yard butterfly.
Joel Money took third in both the 200 and 100 yard backstroke events.
Luke Money took second in the 200 and 100 yard butterfly events.
The Oles' relays swam to a second place finish in the 200 yard freestyle and 400 yard freestyle. They placed first in the 800 yard freestyle, 400 yard medley and 200 yard medley relay events.
