SMU blanks Ole men 2-0

WINONA, Minn. - Saint Mary's University blanked visiting St. Olaf 2-0 for a MIAC men's hockey win on Friday night.
The Cardinals' Jason Horstman made 14 of his 27 saves in the second period to earn the shutout victory in net. St. Olaf had seven shots on three power plays in the period but could not convert.
Over half of the game was scoreless until SMU had goals from Nick Nagel and Andrew Ketterer. Nagel's goal game at 17:12 of the second while Ketterer provided his insurance score with 1:24 left in regulation. Tommy Healy assisted on each goal.
St. Olaf held a 27-19 advantage in shots but had just five in the third period.
The teams meet in Northfield for the series finale tomorrow night.
