Women's hockey completes MIAC sweep of SCU

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Christina Benjamin scored at the 9:03 mark of the third period to lead St. Olaf to a 3-2 victory, on Saturday at Northfield Ice Arena, and MIAC women's hockey series sweep of St. Catherine University.

Benjamin's unassisted tally helped the Oles (5-9-1, 4-3-1 MIAC) to their third straight win.

St. Olaf goaltender Jess Ptachick made 33 saves, including 24 over the final two periods, to earn the win.

The Oles opened the scoring on a Katie Iraci first period score. SCU countered with back-to-back goals -- from Jessica Feltes and Kelsey Abrahamson -- to take a 2-1 lead. St. Olaf tied the game on Tara Reyelts goal with 3:49 left in the second period.
