Men's basketball beats seventh-ranked Tommies

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Bobby Fong had 17 points while Connor Gunderson scored the game's final four points to help St. Olaf defeat No. 7/8 St. Thomas 73-68 on Monday night to hand the host Tommies their first loss in the Anderson Athletics and Recreation Complex.
Fong scored five points in the Oles' closing 9-3 run and went 7-for-12 from the field and 3-of-6 from the arc in the victory, which snapped the Tommies' 53-game MIAC on-campus winning streak.
The win was the third straight for St. Olaf (13-6, 8-6 MIAC) and first over St. Thomas in 14 tries.
Alex Healy and Tyler Nicolai each had 11 points to lead St. Thomas (17-2, 12-2 MIAC).
Gunderson finished with 13 points, Stu Neville with 14 and Alfie Jaryan six and eight assists for the Oles.
St. Olaf returns home to play Augsburg College on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
