Women's hockey upsets UST

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. - Alex Meyer's third period broke a 1-1 tie and lifted St. Olaf to a 2-1 MIAC women's hockey victory over the University of St. Thomas on Saturday afternoon.

Jess Ptachick made 38 saves and Alana Patrick assisted on each St. Olaf goal, as the Oles (6-11-2, 5-5-2 MIAC) moved to .500 in league play.

Jamie Tiede scored for St. Thomas (9-7-2, 8-3-1 MIAC) at 15:06 of the second period. The Oles' Meghan Stumpf tied the game 50 seconds later on Patrick's assist.
