Women's hockey wins sixth in a row

WINONA, Minn. - Taylor Orr's power-play goal with 4:47 left in regulation broke a 1-1 tie and lifted St. Olaf to a 2-1 MIAC women's hockey win over host Saint Mary's University on Friday night for the team's sixth straight victory.
With the win St. Olaf (11-11-2, 10-5-2 MIAC) clinched a top four seed in the MIAC playoffs, which begin on Tuesday.
All three goals in the game were scored in the third period. The Oles' Nicole Stumpf broke the scoreless tie with her 10th goal at 4:56 of the final period. SMU's Dy-anna Stewart tied the game with her power play score just over four minutes later.
Jess Ptachick made nine of her 19 saves in the third period to get the win for the Oles.
The teams meet in the regular season finale tomorrow in Northfield at 3 p.m.
