OWATONNA, Minn.- The St. Olaf women's tennis team defeated the University of St. Thomas 5-4 Friday night at Owatonna Tennis Center.

The Oles dropped two of the three matches. Christine Muller and Abby Ho won their match at first doubles 8-3. Caitlin Harper and Claire Carlson dropped a tight match at second and first-years Lizzy Eggert and Carrie Wight also fell at the third spot.

The Oles needed to win four of the six singles matches and did just that. Muller cruised to a convincing win at third singles to start the comeback and level the match. Carlson and Sarah Magnuson dropped their matches at fourth and sixth to put the Oles behind again. However, Harper and Julia Ellis battled their way to straight set victories as the match came down to the first singles match. Ho won a highly competitive second set to give the Oles a hard-fought win.
