Cornell takes two from softball

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - Cornell College collected a 7-1 and 4-2 non-conference softball sweep of St. Olaf on Saturday afternoon.

Game One: Cornell 7, St. Olaf 1
Sam Tonelli was 2-for-2 and Nicole Duncan 2-for-4 as each homered in the Rams' 7-1 game one victory.

Cornell scored single runs in the first and third innings before erupting five in the fourth on five hits.

Game Two: Cornell 4, St. Olaf 2
Tonelli and Brooke Griffin each went 2-for-3 with two RBIs as Cornell held off the Oles for the sweep.

Katie Traux hit a solo homer and Maggie Scholer was 1-for-2 with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the loss for St. Olaf.
