Macalaster takes a pair from baseball Oles

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Macalester College took each half of a MIAC baseball doubleheader from 16th-ranked St. Olaf, 8-3 and 4-0, on Tuesday afternoon at Nicholson Field.

Game One: Macalester 8, St. Olaf 3
The Scots' Will Chen went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs and Jimmy Belfont hit a three-run homerun as Macalester won the opener 8-3. Macalester scored two runs in the third, and three each in the fourth and fifth.

Dan Lee was 2-for-4 with a solo blast for the Oles, who stranded eight baserunners in the loss. Sean Dube and David Salzwedel each added two hits as well for St. Olaf in the loss.

Game Two: Macalester 4, St. Olaf 0
Macalester scored three runs in the third inning and stranded 10 St. Olaf runners to get the sweep.

St. Olaf outhit the Scots 7-3, but couldn't capitalize. The Oles had two on base in the first, third and seventh, but were a combined 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position.

Lee and Dylan Porter were 2-for-3 and Andy Bartz 2-for-4 to pace the Oles.

Graham Brown was 1-for-3 with a solo homer for the Scots.
