Bethel takes two from Oles

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - Bethel University swept St. Olaf 7-4 and 1-0 in a MIAC baseball doubleheader on Thursday afternoon at Hargis Park.

Game One: Bethel 7, St. Olaf 4
Bethel scored three times in the bottom of the sixth on three hits to break a 4-4 tie and defeat St. Olaf in the opener. St. Olaf plated three in their half of the sixth to erase a three-run deficit.

David Freed had an RBI single in the sixth for the Royals, and went 3-for-4 for in the win.

The Oles' Joey Voss pitched three scoreless innings of relief to keep St. Olaf, which fell behind 4-1.

Game Two: Bethel 1, St. Olaf 0 Bethel's Matt Rowley took a no-hitter into the seventh and finished with a one-hitter as the Royals defeated the Oles 1-0 in the nightcap to complete the sweep.

Travis Piepho went 3-for-3 and Mike Sedjo 2-for-3 for BU (17-9, 6-4 MIAC) in the victory.

Dan Lee had the only hit for St. Olaf (18-9, 6-6 MIAC), which has dropped five of its last six.
