ROSEVILLE, Minn.- The St. Olaf women's tennis team won their second conference match in as many days by defeating Bethel University 8-1 Saturday afternoon at the 98th Street Lifetime Fitness.

Coming into the match, St. Olaf (8-1 MIAC) and Bethel (1-7 MIAC) were at opposite ends of the MIAC standings and the Oles started the match off strong in doubles play. St. Olaf swept the three doubles matches convincingly behind wins from the teams of Abby Ho and Christine Muller, Caitlin Harper and Claire Carlson, and Sarah Magnuson and Anna Klenke. Magnuson and Klenke, who was filling in for Julia Ellis, won their match at third doubles without losing a game.

Like doubles, the Oles were too tough for Bethel in singles play, as St. Olaf won five of the six matches. Winning comfortably for the Oles were Ho, Muller, Harper, Carlson, and Maddy Buck. Buck, playing her first singles match of the year due to the absence of Ellis, won handily in straight sets at sixth singles. Carlson bounced back from a tough match against St. Ben's to win her match without dropping a game. The lone defeat for the Oles came at fifth singles. Moving up one spot, Magnuson won the first set before Kayla Wheeler came back to win in a super-tiebreaker.

The Ole women (12-3, 8-1 MIAC) wrap up their regular season schedule on Tuesday, May 3rd with a visit to Gustavus (13-9, 6-0 MIAC). The two teams are battling for the number two seed in the MIAC playoffs, which start next weekend.
