OAKLAND ACRES, Iowa - Junior Emma Lee won the individual title and four other Oles finished in the top 10 as the St. Olaf women's cross country team won Grinnell College's 10-team Les Duke Invitational in convincing fashion on Saturday morning.
Lee finished in 22:28, holding off North Iowa Community College's Anna Buenneke by six seconds. Buenneke led the race by a considerable margin until Lee made a move with 1,000 meters to go in the race.
The Oles' Christine Mueller (22:56) was fourth overall, Maren Westby (23:07) sixth, Rachel Dean (23:08) seventh and Sophie Pietrick (23:33) 10th. Lauren Carlson finished 15th and Andrea Dittmann 16th for St. Olaf, which had another 10 runners finish in the top 30 of the 172-participant field.
The Oles host the St. Olaf Invitational next weekend.
