Volleyball drops final two in Waverly

WAVERLY, Iowa - The St. Olaf volleyball team dropped its final two at the Wartburg Invitational on Saturday, losing a pair of four-set matches to No. 15 Concordia College-Moorhead and Nebraska Wesleyan University.
After losing the first set 25-17, St. Olaf rebounded with a 25-22 victory to tie the match with Concordia in the day's opener. Concordia then hit .311 and .244 in the final two sets to take 25-20 and 25-18 wins.
A trio of Oles -- Katie Wolfram, Alex Ripperger and Ari Carlson -- each had nine kills. Jenna Green had 24 kills, on 71 attempts, to pace Concordia in the win.
In the final match of the day, Nebraska Wesleyan cruised to 25-18 and 25-12 wins in the first two sets. St. Olaf then rebounded for a 25-18 third set win before NWU wrapped it up with a 25-21 fourth set triumph.
Wolfram had 10 kills to lead St. Olaf (4-4), while Cody Long had 15 for NWU.
