Women's soccer thumps UW-La Crosse

MOORHEAD, Minn. - Amanda Leone had two goals and an assist as St. Olaf scored a 6-1 non-conference women's soccer win over UW-La Crosse on Saturday afternoon.

Leone assisted on the game's first goal -- a Catie Christoffel score at the 12:56 mark -- and added a pair of second half goals of her own.

St. Olaf led 2-0 after a Susie Jelinek unassisted score at 32:56. UW-La Crosse closed the gap to shortly after on a Saskia Taylor score.

First year Dani Larson then scored in the 39th minute, for her third goal of the year, on an assist from Megan Fellows to make it 3-1 at the break.

Anna Theis scored the Oles' other goal, an unassisted tally in the 65th minute.

St. Olaf plays the College of St. Scholastica tomorrow at 3 p.m.
